New Rural Monopole SiteAmerican Communication Facilities has completed construction of a150 foot monopole communication tower in Masthope Mountain Community located in Lackawaxen Township, PA, a project begun in November of November 2008. This location was chosen because it offered a premium high elevation of land within an underserved community. It provides regional and national carriers with an infrastructure for placing their equipment and ultimately gives the residents of Masthope and the surrounding areas greater access to wireless communication as well as increased radio coverage to local emergency services. This 150 foot, extendable to 195 feet, structure was designed by Innovation Engineering, Inc., manufactured by Sabre Communications, Corp. and erected by Skyhook, Inc. The tower is a hot-dipped galvanized steel monopole built to ANSI/EIA/TIA 222G standards. Power is provided via a combination of overhead and underground cables with final step-down transformers located on the site. The tower is equipped to house a total of six carriers with six separate meter banks. Carriers will be interested in knowing that the site is secured by an 8 foot chain link fence with a screen of evergreen junipers, as well as having a secure staging area within the gated compound. There is easy 24 hour, 7 days a week access to the site with parking availability in the immediate vicinity. At this time South Canaan Cellular located in Honesdale, PA has agreed to leasing space on the tower. |
